QLogic 8Gb Host Bus Adapters Also Now Available Through EMC Select Program: QLogic today announced that the QLogic 2500 Series of 8Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) are qualified by EMC as E-Lab Tested for use with EMC CLARiiON, EMC Celerra and EMC Symmetrix networked storage systems. With E-Lab qualification, EMC customers can use QLogic and EMC technology to deploy highly scalable, high performance 8Gb Fibre Channel networks. The highly comprehensive E-Lab qualification process tests configurations that replicate real-world environments to help ensure customer satisfaction. In addition, EMC now offers the QLogic 2500 Series of 8Gb Fibre Channel adapters as part of its EMC Select Program. Supermicro Surpasses $2 Billion in Cumulative Revenue Since Founding

Super Micro Computer today announced that the company has surpassed the $2 billion milestone in cumulative sales revenue since it was founded in 1993. Supermicro's annual growth rate during the last five fiscal years was several times faster than the server industry growth rate, as the company has consistently posted double-digit growth figures year after year.

NCAR Installs 76 Teraflops Supercomputer

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) has taken delivery of a new IBM supercomputer that will advance research into severe weather and the future of Earth's climate. The supercomputer, known as a Power 575 Hydro- Cluster, is the first in a highly energy-efficient class of machines to be shipped anywhere in the world.
